Erica is an unapologetic vigilante. She punches, she steals, she breaks, and she enters. She evades the cops — until she can’t. Her mother, played by Kathryn Hahn, her step dad, played by Tim Heldecker, and a mysterious male friend, played by Adam Scott, seem oblivious to Erica’s machinations. Until, of course, they can’t. All actions have an opposite and equal reaction.

The plot revolves around Erica’s relationship with her step brother, Luke, played by Joey Morgan. Luke is declared “mentally unstable,” which makes their relationship all the more curious. This is all rather heavily guarded in the teaser, which is more a study of Erica’s explosiveness rather than her relationships. (A fun fact: Dylan Gelula, who plays Xanthippe on The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, also appears in the movie.)

Deutch, who starred in Before I Fall, has a preference for strong women characters. Her character Sam in Before I Fall was just as prickly as Erica.

“She’s not this stoic, perfect, one-dimensional female character,” Deutch told Teen Vogue of her character. “She’s complicated. She’s a walking contradiction of herself. She’s not good. She’s not bad. She’s like the women I know.”

So, incidentally, is Erica. Watch the full teaser for Flower, below:

Designer labels at up to 70 percent off to benefit a good cause.

If you want to shop for a good cause this holiday season, Dress for Success is hosting its annual Shop for Success designer event Thursday-Monday in Westwood, offering deep discounts (up to 70 percent) off designer duds by Prada, Rebecca Minkoff, Lela Rose, Theory, Elizabeth & James, Tadashi Shoji and more. The merch will include women’s clothing, shoes, handbags, accessories, plus sizes, men’s clothing, eco-friendly and vintage items.

Now in its seventh year, the event raises money for Dress for Success, a worldwide organization that provides professional attire and support to women in their interview and job-search processes. And it’s no joke — 100 percent of retail sales go to this worthy cause.

Minnie Driver, Zoey Deutch and Chrissy Metz will kick off Shop for Success with a VIP shopping party Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. Two tiers of tickets are available: Platinum ($100) and Gold ($75). Platinum ticket holders will have early access to the sale at 5 p.m. and Gold ticket holders at 6 p.m. Both tiers will have first dibs on the goods and receive a GUESS handbag filled with gifts valued at more than $400.

The evening also includes music (DJ Shammy Dee), festive cocktails (by Casamigos Tequila), appetizers (by Sarah Leibsohn), a silent auction and access to personal stylists to help guests shop for success.
